Alter Ego is sort of playground for creators from – sometimes radically – different backgrounds. Before becoming a designer and an academic teacher, Paweł was a sailor who visited countless ports all over the world. His voyage to Japan made him fall in love with wood as a material and inspired his minimalistic yeti seemingly spiritual designs. Since then, he returned there to learn traditional techniques and draw inspiration for his mostly hand-crafted objects. His collaboration with Paged is his first interaction with the furniture industry, yet imagining his pieces being produced in a factory wasn’t difficult. Why? Because Paged’s factories are all about merging automation with good old handwork by skilled craftsmen, like those who built two TIGERS, a stool and a bench, from contrasted planks of Polish oak.
